Anime Going Mainstreem?

There's been debate whether anime is going mainstream or not. This blog post is solely my opinion about anime and mainstream.

What is mainstream?

According to the dictionary it means, "the principal or dominant course, tendency, or trend." So in other words something that is very popular.

Do you think anime will become mainstream?

I'm not quite sure because in my opinion, most of the newest "fans" of anime today are just people who merely watched a show like Attack on Titan just because it became popular. Unless an even better show that beats the current anime industry now emerges, it probably won't. Looking at it in a different perspective, the average person I know has at least watched one type of anime (If you count pokemon which I believe is a cartoon). Right now we can't tell, if only we had a Mirai Nikki....

Do you want anime to become mainstream?

The selfish answer would be NO. Personally like many other hardcore anime fans, anime is what makes me unique. People who've just watched popular anime shows haven't seen the whole picture. Do you think your an anime fan? Name 20 or more anime's you have watched that don't include, Attack on Titan, and the mainstream shonen (Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Fairytale and DBZ. You see, many people who are watching it for it's popularity can't do this. But there's another side to this. Shouldn't people be allowed to watch what they want? Not to mention, if the anime industry is booming, they produce more money, which in turn provides better quality anime. But whether it becomes mainstream or not I will still love it forever.

Motteke,Watashi wa Ujushin ED lyrics

I was kind of bored so I decided to make the ending to my own anime. The lyrics are probably not too accurate since half of it came from the knowledge I have of the Japanese. This was not meant to be serious or anything. The song itself is very light hearted.

My Top 5 Love Live Songs

These are my favorite Rabu Raibu songs. I don't own any of the music/pictures. μ's MUSIC START

5. After School Navigators

I love how this song is so moe but at the same time metal. Metalmoe I kinda like the sound of it. The ironic part is that it's about food.

4. Aishiteru Banzai

I love the meaning of never giving up even during times of sadness. Maki's powerful voice just enchants the song. μ's version is good too but I just don't think it's the same.

3. Wild Stars

All the Rabu Raibu songs are catchy but this is the cactchiest by far. It gives of that "cool" vibe.

2. Mermaid Festa

The mood in this song is calm but so serious at the same time. The group doesn't usually do these types of songs but when they do, rare awesome songs are born

1. Kaguya no shiro de Odoritai

YES. My favorite song!! With Nico Maki and Umi being the lead I had to rank this first. This song is very unique but at the same time catchy. So, wanna dance?

Anime Characters with an Awesome Catchphrase

We all know that anime characters have that little saying that gets stuck in your head. One ends up repeating it over and over and over. In this list I will name some of my favorites.

Chitanda Eru~ Watashi Kininarimasu (I'm Curious)

Oh how I love Chitanda. In the series all I know is that she says it over 50 times. I wonder how one can be so curious about EVERYTHING. Anyway it's really catchy and I know what to say when I'm curious.

Rika Furude~ Nipah

In the beginning of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, surprisingly Rika doesn't use her famous phrase that often. But later along with -nano-desu she does. It really suits her adorable character.

Shana~ Urusai! Urasai! Urusai!

It isn't only Shana's now but she's the original character who said it. So kawaii

Yazawa Nico~ Nico Nico Nii

Tee Hee

Tsukimiya Ayu~ Uguu

Doki Doki suru wa yo. Ayu-chi is so adorable with her uguu.

Musume Ika~ De gesso

Drawing and Coloring Inori Yuzuhira on the Computer

I used Microsoft Power Point and Paint to draw and color the picture. I do not take any credit  in the actual character but I did create the picture free hand.

Drawing

I didn't add many details so I could later do it in Paint.

Biography of Takamine Maki

"I'm a magic sword user who's main ability is to heal." -Takamine Maki

Maki also known as Senpai complains a lot and becomes mad at her siblings for no reason. On the brighter side, she is cool and responsible. In her family Takamine Maki is the middle child and since she has an older and younger brother which makes her an older and younger sister. In PS.83, Senpai no koto wa dai suki  Rimu-kun.

Interesting Facts about Takamine Maki:
  • Her Mom rides a white horse
  • Like me she loves anime
  • I'm her Kouhai
  • She's stronger than Konno Yuuki
  • She likes being outside

This biography was based on things said by Senpai. Half of it is fiction.

Top 5 Touhou Characters

5. Nitori Kawashiro

I love Nitori's childish personality. She's always so pumped up and happy. The real reason I put her on this list though, is because I love her theme song The Gensokyo the Gods Loved.

4. Reimu Hakurei

We can't forget our responsible shrine maiden Reimu. Although she may be a calm and collective when someone angers her it's time for a fight. Generally, Reimu is the most popular character.

3. Sakuya Izayoi

Sakuya is easily the coolest character Gensokyo has to offer. It is said that she is the fastest character in the game, after all, she has the ability to stop time. I wouldn't want to fight against her.

2. Marisa Kirisame

Marisa's the one who angers Reimu. She's the most awesome tomboy witch that you'll ever meet. I love her reckless personality. If I ever could go to Gensokyo I'd want to hang out with Marisa. MASTAAAA SPAAAKU.

1. Remilia Scarlet

Ever since I first laid my eyes on Touhou, devilish vampire Remilia was my absolute favorite. She has that serious outlook but when she shows her more childish side it's so adorable. I can also relate to her because I have a younger sister; like Remilia and Flandre my siblings and I are always fighting.

My top 8 favorite male characters

I did a top 10 female and now it's time to do males

8. Lelouch Lamperouge  (Code Geass)

Lelouch is deceiveful. At Ashford Academy he is a gentle, kind and caring as well as careful. This is because he must not allow his identity to be revealed. But compared to his dark side Lelouch is bossy and uses his "comrades" as mere pawns. These different appearances of him are what makes him such an amazing character.

7. Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Not even going to explain why this person is on this list.......

6. Akise Aru (Mirai Nikki)

Akise is one of my favorite detective characters (second to first place on this list). He's very perceptive and was able to solve the first and second Yuno case. I really like Aru's personality.

5. Ouma Shu (Guilty Crown)

Ouma Shu is usually referred to as normal and shy. But as the story progresses he gets stronger. After Hare's death Shu becomes a tyrant." His character development is interesting. Shu is determined and hates losing ones he loves.

4. Kirito Kirigaya (Sword Art Online)

Kazuto Kirigaya is a strong virtual player. Although he is sometimes irresponsible Kazuto is very trust worthy and calm. I didn't see many times in anime where he would get scared. Kirito has a pretty awesome personality even for someone who's so op.

3. Togashi Yuuta ( Chuunibyou demo koi ga shita)

Yuuta with Chunibyou is too awesome to not be on this list.

2. Hotarou Oreki (Hyouka)

I just seem to love detectives... Well I had to put my anime Senpai on this list. I like Oreki's hair.

 1. L

L is the ultimate detective in anime history. I mean how can someone figure out so much from so little information. After L died I literally gave up on the show. Yagami Light wasn't as half good. Although he's always serious little things like his addiction of sweets show that inside he's childish at heart.

Say Hai to Your Senpai

So what exactly is a Senpai?

When people think about Senpai's weeaboo's usually think about the common saying "Please notice me senpai" or famous Youtuber's who use it.

Senpai- Someone who has a higher social status
Ex. A junior and a senior have a Kouhai and Senpai relationship

Which leads me to Kouhai which are protégé's or juniors

My senpai is Takamine Maki. She's older than me by  1.1666 years and look up to her. So how exactly do you find the perfect senpai:

  • Well a Senpai is someone who you look up to so use your role model
  • Generally Senpai's are older than Kouhai's
In a senpai and kouhai relationship, a senpai is expected to mentor the kouhai and teach them in return for respect and obedience. And if your a Senpai don't ignore your Kouhai!

You are my Senpai in the link below

Anime vs. Cartoon

This article is only my opinion

I bet all of us have felt this moment before and I guess you've spent hours to try to explain to someone ANIME IS NOT A CARTOON. You know why, cause it's NOT. I know that they are not because anime and cartoons have different art styles and anime is actually awesome.

Art Styles:

One thing that separates the two is the style of art. I have to admit, both are art but one is more decent than another.

Anime:
  • Closer to human anatomy
  • Distinctive style of eyes
  • Better art
Cartoon
  • Weird looking humans
  • Far away from human anatomy
  • Some lazy drawings
  • More focused on comedy than actual art work

Other differences between anime and cartoons:

Anime
  • Professional Seiyuu's
  • Better plot
  • More emotion
  • Better
  • Better
  • Different
Cartoon
  • Cheap plots
  • Voices done by "popular people"
  • No emotion
  • Worse
  • Worse
  • Different
SO IF ANYONE CALLS ANIME A CARTOON I GIVE YOU PERMSION TO SHOOT THEM!

If you didn't know I hate cartoons

My Top 5 Favorite Vocaloid Songs

There are so many Vocaloid songs so please understand that this is my opinion. If you don't see one of your favorites you are free to comment. Chances are I haven't even heard it so I'm open to something new.

5. Reboot

This song is one of the more emotional songs. I've never been able to watch this once without crying. It shows that one must continue going through the hardships and never give up even if the path is covered in thorns.

4. Happy Synthesizer

This song is one of my favorites because it's mood is so happy and light. The tune is also really catchy. When you're feeling down this song can make you feel energized.

3.  Luka Night Fever

The main reason I love this song is the dance. It's similar to Happy Synthesizer due to it's light and fluffy mood, but it bring something more to the table.

2. Black Rock Shooter

I love this song not only because it's tune but deep meaning. Another thing that influenced me was the anime. The song by itself is fine but the fact that an entire anime could be created from the meaning is amazing.

1. Romeo and Cinderella

This had to place on the top of my list for several reasons. The first one is that the song itself is a piece of work. The creator was able to make it rhyme with still being able to convey the message. Usually when this is done a song loses that meaning but not in this case. Another reason is because of the music. It is very catchy and will stick in your head for who knows how long. The last reason is that it's sad. When you listen to a Vocaloid you want the emotion of the music to transfer to you and that's what Romeo and Cinderella does.

Thanks for reading and if one of your favorite Vocaloid songs wasn't mentioned please comment below. Arigatou mina
